Art with Heart and a lot of smiles!
There are a lot of kindness ripples in the air! Kavita aunty is knocking on doors to collect gifts for those who don’t have much; Pavithra and her friends are distributing chocolates; Darpan and Dhrishti are giving chai, water, juice and love and Chandani and her friends are handing out Christmas cards! How do you not get inspired after reading their experience, and that too all in one day! That’s what happened to me one morning a few days back. I have recently moved to Angola and was hiding behind the “I don’t know the language” excuse!
Grateful for the family and the kindness ripples that touched and brought in so much sunshine! I was wondering “what could I do?”. It was 31st morning and I could see many of the locals already camping on the beach. The holiday for them had begun; but in my apartment building, the gardener was still working, the cleaners were there, the guards were still there and will be there even on 1st when everyone will be enjoying the holiday. And I just knew.
I decided to make new year cards for all of them. As I was making them, my friend Ioana, came visiting. When she saw me making cards for them, she joined in. On 31st night we had some friends come over for dinner and all my craft stuff was still lying out and when they saw that; they joined in too! 🙂 So by the end of the year we had more cards than people working in the building! Art with Heart! And in the process we all learned some more Portuguese 🙂
In the morning I made some fresh orange cookies and me and Ioana went out with plateful of love, cookies, cards and big smiles on our faces!
With each cookie and cards, we collected more and more smiles and our own smiles became wider and wider :).
Feliz Ano Novo!
Que o novo ano traga alegria e felicidade!

May the new year bring in a lot of joy and happiness!)
