gratiTUBE: One family

“I felt like it brought down a lot of barriers.”

In this amazing “On the Road” experiment, photographer Richard Renaldi brings together strangers and poses them as family or friends for intimate portraits. The results are some beautiful portraits; making one wonder if we aren’t all friends just waiting to meet each other!

Steve Hartman of CBS news very beautifully describes the project as capturing humanity.

“Most photographers capture life as it is, but in these strangers, Richard Renaldi has captured something much more ethereal and elusive. He shows us humanity as it could be — as most of us wish it would be — and as it was, at least for those one fleeting moments in time.”

Renaldi has been on the road Touching Strangers for the last 6 years. You can view some of the portraits here.

It fills our heart with so much hope and love to see so many different ways people are reaching out to strangers! Writing letters to strangers; offering lifts; sharing smiles and hugs; serving tea and striking conversations … are just a few.

Actually, not strangers, reaching out to friends and family they just haven’t met yet 🙂

Hello dear friend!

gratiTUBE is a series of short videos – a video that inspired us; a video that brought a smile to our face; a video that filled our heart with warmth and a video that we want to share and multiply the effect it had on us! If you have come across a video that you would like featured here, tell us about it!
