Lately when I’ve been a little unwell, my dear friends kept sending me beautiful messages to perk me up and one of them was this video! 🙂 When I saw this video, I was smiling and crying at the same time. It was so beautiful and so adorable! Thank you Akansha!

In 1969 two Australian friends, Ace Bourke and John Rendall visited Harrods in London and became enchanted with a young Lion cub on sale. Acting on impulse and with no previous Lion experience they immediately decided to buy him (which was legal back then! :)). Some weeks later, they moved Christian into their flat which had a basement under a shop; this was to become the lion’s home. And the local church lawns his playground!

Christian soon grew both in size and popularity and Ace and John knew he needed a new home. In 1970 Ace and John decided to take him to George Adamson Wildlife Preservation Trust in Kenya and the relocation began.

This video was shot when Ace and John went back after a year to meet Christian. They were that Christian is now the leader of his pride and would not remember them, but the reunion that followed is such a beautiful and true expression of love and friendship!
